Château D’Arfeuille

The Château d’Arfeuille is located near Felletin in the Creuse of France.

The land the Château is built on has remained in the same family since at least the 12th century. Château d’Arfeuille, was built by Antoine Mourins d’Arfeuille in the 15th century. It is still owned by the Mourins d’Arfeuille family.

The Keep (Donjon)

The oldest part of the current Château is the quadrangular building, called the Donjon or Keep. It stands 17m tall x 7m made from granite. It has 2 floors and has been modified to form a chapel. The remnants of the walkway on battlements that crowned the keep have been leveled.

Landscaped Garden

The 1999 storm devastated the landscaped garden, which has been repaired. In the second half of the 19th century a dovecote, built along the access road, was transformed into a chapel.
