30 Years of Abandoned Bedroom – Finally Being Restored!

In this video, we embark on a journey through the timeless elegance of French interior design. From the opulence of the Baroque period to the refined simplicity of French Chic, we explore the various styles that have captivated people worldwide.

Fashion faux-pas

After tirelessly searching through countless properties, we finally found a renovation project that intrigued us – a house with a fascinating past and unfortunately, some questionable design choices. Think lime green and pink plaster coving, and a door adorned with lino floor tiles. Fashion faux-pas indeed!

While our farmhouse may not be the typical setting for a French-inspired interior, we refused to let that stop us from creating a unique blend of styles. The grandeur of Louis XV furniture and the sleekness of Art Deco lamps are just some of the elements that now grace our rustic abode.

But the real challenge came when we stumbled upon an abandoned bedroom that had been neglected for a whopping 30 years. Bees and pine martins had made themselves at home, and the walls were on the verge of collapse. And let’s not forget the chimney that decided to join in on the chaos, causing smoke to seep through the walls and water to pour from the ceiling.

What was supposed to be a simple redecoration quickly turned into a restoration mission. We tackled collapsing walls, repaired the chimney, and meticulously restored every detail of this forgotten corner of the house.

Join us on this journey as we breathe new life into this once-abandoned bedroom. From the natural stone walls to the chestnut roof beams, every aspect has been lovingly brought back to its former glory.
